The Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Nursing / University of Kufa held a workshop entitled (polymer chain reaction (PCR)), the workshop was delivered by Dr. Wijdan Dhidan Shanein and Dr. Ehood Aqeed Radhi on Monday 4/3/2019. Dr. Wihdan explained that the series of polymer interaction is a laboratory technology was discovered in about 1983, where it is based on the multiplication of DNA copies outside the biological system, Dr. Ehood said “It is a way to copy DNA in the laboratory, it is therefore a vital technique for cloning a specific piece of DNA and doubling its production so that it can be tested as well as additional tests.”
The workshop also dealt with the theoretical explanation of this technology and its most important scientific applications in the field of medicine and science, including detection of mutations and identification of DNA.
The workshop covered the most important requirements of this technique. The workshop was accompanied by practical explanations using video lectures.
