Where this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of some non-drug therapeutic techniques to reduce the severity of pain in women during labor in teaching maternity hospitals.
The study indicates that applying non-pharmacological pain management practices was effective on the study group by reducing pain intensity and improving the positive outcome in women.
The study recommended the necessity of implementing an educational program on non-pharmacological methods to reduce the severity of pain during labor for midwives working in the delivery room to increase the methods of knowledge. Also, the nurse should take a role in teaching women about non-pharmacological methods (breathing technique, back massage) during childbirth, and by using different types of Various media or awareness booklets to raise awareness in a non-medicinal manner in all areas of Maternity Teaching Hospital.
