A workshop was held at the College of Nursing at the University of Kufa, in cooperation with the Red Crescent Society, Najaf branch, entitled (Examination or early detection of breast cancer).
The workshop included a lecture given by Mrs. Marwa Alaa Muhammad Hassan, in which she explained the self-examination for breast cancer, where the infection rate for men is 1% and women are affected by a greater rate (meaning that every 8 women are affected by one).
The lecturer added that the examination should be monthly for women for life so that the chances of survival are high to ensure that they are not infected with this disease, through a home examination.
The workshop aimed at detecting the disease early, as well as discovering any mass within the breast tissue, as well as providing all health information to all individuals (health education).
It was recommended to eat a healthy diet, which includes (garlic, onions, turmeric, green tea and tomatoes), and women of wise age should at the time of self-examination determined by their doctor every single day of the month.
