A scientific symposium was held at the College of Nursing at the University of Kufa, entitled (Electronic extortion), sponsored by the Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Rajha Abdul-Hassan Hamza, and in cooperation with the community police in Najaf. The symposium included two axes, the first axis included a definition and an introduction to community police, and the second axis included an extensive discussion on electronic extortion and several lectures delivered by (Mr. Faris Muhammad Reda / Mr. Essam Hassan Kazem / Ms. Asmaa Habib Saleh) The lectures explained the types, causes and effects of electronic extortion, as well as ways to address it legally, as this crime is one of the serious crimes that has increased with the rapid spread of misuse of the Internet and social networking sites.
The symposium’s recommendations stated that it is necessary to deal firmly and realize the location of the defect and address it proactively by cutting off the causes leading to electronic extortion, as well as reporting cases of extortion to which our students are exposed by calling the toll-free number of the community police (497), as well as establishing similar awareness campaigns related to domestic violence and consolidating values Civil coexistence and the harms of drugs, smoking and others.
