A workshop was held at the College of Nursing at the University of Kufa, entitled (the energy hormone in the body, vitamin B12), and the lecture was delivered by Dr. Dina Adnan Abdullah. Many of us know the importance of vitamins and minerals to the body, but some may not know that vitamin deficiency causes severe damage to the body, and leads to many infections Diseases, where the body’s immune system loses its strength due to not being fed enough of it. For example, a lack of vitamin B12 exposes the body to many diseases, including problems in the nervous system, as vitamin B12 is the energy hormone in the body, and helps to form blood cells and strengthen the nervous system, instead of boosting immunity. Cobalamin Vitamin B12 is one of the group of B complex vitamins, and it performs the task of maturation of red blood cells that are formed in the bone marrow, and it also maintains the integrity of nerve fibers, and the formation of nucleic acids, as it enters into the formation of thymidine triphosphate, and the body needs five micrograms of it daily. Vitamin B12 Heart palpitations Oxygen flow to tissues is affected when there is a deficiency of vitamin B12 in the body, which leads to an increase in heart palpitations Vision loss Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to damage to the optic nerve and blood vessels in the retina, which leads to blurry vision Vision loss Memory loss Vitamin B12 deficiency causes a depletion in the production of serotonin in the brain, which causes neurological problems and memory loss. Shortness of breath This is also due to the effect of oxygen flow to the tissues due to the lack of vitamin B12 in the body, which leads to shortness of breath. Constipation Vitamin B12 deficiency in the body makes it difficult to absorb nutrients, which causes digestive problems and thus constipation.
