Our College holds its Third International Conference under the emblem “Modern Methods of Education – Enhancing Mental Safety”

The Faculty of Nursing / University of Kufa in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and under the emblem (modern methods of education – enhancing mental safety) held its third scientific international conference tagged (Modern educational methods for children with special needs and mental health problems) on 24/1/2019 in the presence of a number of academic and official figures and a delegation from the University of Newcastle. The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Rajha Al-Kassar, said that the conference aims to find innovative ways to teach children with special needs and to identify the psychological and social impact on the educational level of students. For his part, Director of Najaf Education Dr. Adel Al-Busaisi, the existence of 117 classrooms in the province’s schools allocated for children with special needs and it accommodates 1426 students.

The conference included lectures and working papers presented by researchers from various Iraqi universities and government institutions and a view of the experiences of European countries in dealing with children with special needs presented by professors from the University of Newcastle.

 The Conference summarizes a number of recommendations the need to provide support and care for children with special needs and the opening of private schools for the visually impaired and the hearing impaired and those with Down syndrome and cochlear implants in order to rehabilitate them and give them the basic skills in life.
